ALVIN GLYMPH, founder of Glymph and Associates, LLC has over 15 years of research and business development experience. His significant experience and skills were developed during his tenure with Georgia State University, Emory University, Colgate University, Kemet Wear, and GADAD Enterprises. Mr. Glymph is also part owner of GADAD Enterprises, a New York City transportation and childcare company in existence since 1981. Mr. Glymph first owned a business while in college, as he and some college buddies formed KEMET Wear, an Afrocentric T-shirt business, aimed at African American college students at predominantly white campuses. He was a Research Associate with the Georgia State University Applied Research Center in the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies for seven years. He directed an effort that produced the 2003 Metro Atlanta After School Program Guide for the Partnership for After School Education. The Guide, which was produced thanks to financial resources attained from The Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation, lists program and contact information for over 450 programs. It has been a resource for thousands of parents and can be viewed at www.pasesetter.com. He has contributed significantly to large-scale research programs including the Council for School Performance, Morehouse ITC, National Black Arts Festival, Fulton County District Attorney’s Community Prosecution Office, Project Fulton, and the Georgia Leadership Forum. In 1994, he was a primary researcher on an economic impact study for the National Black Arts Festival. This report continues to be cited as evidence of the millions of dollars generated by the festival for the metro Atlanta economy. He has overseen the database for the Georgia Lottery funded Pre-Kindergarten Program. This database plays a key role in funding the organizations that provide child-care services to over 60,000 four-year olds throughout the state of Georgia. He holds a Masters of Arts in Educational Research from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia and a Bachelors of Arts in Religion and African American Studies from Colgate University in Hamilton, NY. Alvin has also served as an instructor for the Atlanta University C.O.R program from 1994 to 1999, teaching a course in Applied Computer Data Analysis. He also served as an instructor for the Georgia State University P.R.E.P. Program. In 2003, he served as a Blank Fellow Site Visitor for the United Way Blank Fellow Summer Internship Program. He has volunteered with Fulton County Sports and Recreation, Clayton County Sports and Recreation, Hosea’s Feed the Hungry, Phyllis Wheatley YWCA, QBT Seventh Day Adventist Church Soup Kitchen in Queens, New York, and assisted Communities in Schools of Atlanta with the data collection for their programs. In 2001, he volunteered as a Technical Consultant for the Partnership for After School Education Atlanta Steering Committee, sponsored by The Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation. He has also worked on the Tavis Smiley Youth to Leaders 2000 Executive Planning Committee. | |
